10 Things You Shouldnââ¬â¢t Do When Youââ¬â¢re Broke
10 Things You Shouldnââ¬â¢t Do When Youââ¬â¢re Broke Whether being broke is a permanent state for you, or youââ¬â¢re just passing through a bit of hardship, there are a few lifestyle adjustments it would be prudent for you to make in order to not end up in a mountain of debt. Being broke is also incredibly stressful- youââ¬â¢re constantly worried about your bank balance and how youââ¬â¢ll afford necessary purchases. Why add to the stress? Here is a list of good things to avoid doing if youââ¬â¢re having trouble making ends meet.1. SmokeSeriously. Apart from the fact that it will eventually give you cancer (aka huge medical bills), itââ¬â¢s incredibly expensive to keep up. Youââ¬â¢ll live longer and find you have a lot more spending money week to week.2. DrugsDonââ¬â¢t smoke anything else either. People can tell and wonââ¬â¢t hire you. Youââ¬â¢ll have to constantly worry about passing random or job-related drug tests, and youââ¬â¢ll be spending a lot of money you just donââ¬â¢t have.3. Join a GymFitness i s a great thing, but can be achieved much more cheaply than by getting a monthly (spendy) gym membership. Go running. Do push-ups and crunches. Try the Scientific 7-Minute Workout. Find yoga videos for free on YouTube. Figure out how to exercise for free- itââ¬â¢s super simple these days.4. Look Down on WorkAs long as someoneââ¬â¢s job is legal and ethical, itââ¬â¢s no business of yours to look down on it. Maybe you should even consider the service industry. Answer phones, wait tables, clean houses. Just get yourself back on your feet.5. Make ExcusesChances are itââ¬â¢s your responsibility. Unless youââ¬â¢re caring for a sick loved one or facing enormous medical bills yourself, you probably were just living beyond your means. Own the position youââ¬â¢re in and take action to dig yourself out of your financial hole.6. Take Unnecessary VacationsIf you canââ¬â¢t keep up with your rent or car payments, then whatever extra cash you think you have for trips or weekend s away should probably be put to more constructive use. Donââ¬â¢t be flagrant when you canââ¬â¢t afford to be.7.à Go Out to EatAvoid restaurants. You canââ¬â¢t afford them. Seriously. Cook for yourself and bring your lunch- leftovers are your friend. That goes for buying coffee as well; get to know your Mr. Coffee- your new regular coffee shop! If you must go to a movie, smuggle cheaper snacks in in your handbag instead of shelling out for concession prices.8. Upgrade Your StuffNow isnââ¬â¢t the time to get a nicer car or move to a nicer neighborhood. You canââ¬â¢t afford the extra cash youââ¬â¢d need to get this done- or the loan payments. Stick with your station for a while longer until you can afford to move up.9. Ignore the BillsYou may cringe whenever a new pile shows up in the mail, and want to hide under the covers and hope that all your bills just go away. But they wonââ¬â¢t. Open them. Call the companies. Set up payment plans. Be proactive. Itââ¬â¢ s much better than blissful ignorance- which can still eat you alive with stress.10. Create WasteDonââ¬â¢t drive anywhere further than you have to. Consolidate errands to consolidate gas. Donââ¬â¢t go on lavish dates- simple ones will do and are often more romantic anyway. Donââ¬â¢t waste water or gas or electricity in your home. Donââ¬â¢t pay to do anything you could do yourself (car washes, house cleanings, lawn mowing). And donââ¬â¢t take on any extra expenses that arenââ¬â¢t absolutely necessary. Actually reading that magazine? Probably not. Cancel cancel cancel.

Imagery In Macbeth Essays - Characters In Macbeth, Free Essays
Imagery In Macbeth Essays - Characters In Macbeth, Free Essays Imagery In Macbeth Imagery in Macbeth Essay submitted by Unknown In his plays, Shakespeare uses many forms of imagery. Many forms of his imagery are used in his play 'Macbeth,' including the forms of clothing and darkness. Each detail in his imagery, it seems to me, contains an important symbol of the play, and symbols that we must understand if we are to understand either the passage it is in, or the play as a whole. In 'Macbeth' I think that the imagery of clothing is used to suggest that throughout the play, Macbeth is seeking to hide his disgraceful self from his eyes and from others. I think that Shakespeare wants to keep alive the ironical contrast between the wretched creature that Macbeth really is and the disguises he assumes to conceal the fact. Secondly, I think that in the play honours are thought of as garments to be worn; likewise, Macbeth is constantly represented symbolically as the wearer of robes not belonging to him. He is wearing an undeserved dignity. A crucial point in describing the purpose of clothing in 'Macbeth' is the fact that these are not his garments. Therefore, Macbeth is uncomfortable in them because he is continually conscious of the fact that they do not belong to him. In the following passage, the idea constantly recurs that Macbeth's new honours sit ill upon him, like a loose and badly fitting garment, belonging to someone else: New honours come upon him, Like our strange garments, cleave not to their mould, But with the aid of use. (1.3.144) The second, most important chain of imagery used to add to the atmosphere is that of the imagery of darkness. In a Shakespearean tragedy a special tone, or atmosphere must be created to show the darkness and blackness in a tragedy. In Macbeth, Shakespeare uses the design of the witches, the guilt in Macbeth's soul, and the darkness of the night to establish the atmosphere. All of the remarkable scenes take place at night or in some dark spot; for instance, the vision of the dagger, the murder of Duncan, the murder of Banquo, and Lady Macbeth's sleep-walking, all occur at night. Darkness is the time when the traveller hastens to reach safety in his inn, when Banquo rides homeward to meet his assassins; furthermore, it is the time when the wolf howls, the owl screams, and when murder steals forth to his work. In 'Macbeth' I think the darkness symbolizes many things. First, and most importantly, it stands for the evil and death in the play. The darkness could partially blind out all of the horrible things that occur in the night. For, only in darkness can such evil deeds be done. Secondly, the darkness shows one of Lady Macbeth's weaknesses: her fear of the dark. In the play, phrases of fear escape from her lips even in sleep. She believes darkness to be the place of torment. In the whole drama, the sun seems to shine only twice. First, in the beautiful but ironical passage when Duncan sees the swallows flirting round the castle of death. Next, when at the close the avenging army gathers to rid the earth of its shame. Therefore; I can conclude that darkness is used to establish the evil parts of the play; whereas, daylight is used to establish victory or goodness in a play.
